Who
Bonnie Wong | ENTERPRISE CONSULTANT, INDEPENDENT PRACTITIONER
All problem solving starts with information and answering similar sorts of questions – what do you want, who can provide it, where do you find it, how do you go about finding and getting it… I have creatively resolved issues and made strategic progress, compassionate to the needs of all stakeholders, whilst working with a number of different types of organisations including financial institutions, professional services firms, and many owner-operated businesses. Through Composition Advisory Limited, I help create sustainable business models around community and people.
My areas of expertise include:
- helping you take the limits off, enabling creativity
- developing business models and strategy
- planning and managing projects
- understanding financial systems, accounting, and internal controls
- raising finance
- advising on commercial property and sustainable environments
What I enjoy most is bringing out the best potential in people and teams. I am enthusiastic about new directions and embrace change. I can help you get organised, set goals, and plan strategically.
My Current Work
I am currently advising on a variety of projects including finance raising for a solar energy project, business modelling and strategy for enterprise hubs, and premises research and strategy for community- and culture-focused ventures. I am also reviewing business plans received by Big Issue Invest, a provider of finance to social enterprises.
My Previous Work
I have over 13 years experience working with owner-operators, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions. Most recently, I worked with Crown Northcorp and Skiworld, focusing primarily on communicating and reporting information to improve decision-making and communication amongst teams. Previous to this, I spent 5 months advising a sovereign wealth fund, analysing real estate and corporate investment opportunities in a rapidly changing global market. I spent two years at ABN AMRO Bank, raising around €500 million in debt finance for property in Europe. I turned my idea of creating the team’s first induction training program for new associates and career changers into a reality, resulting in a one-day course featuring speakers from management and senior staff. Before joining ABN AMRO, I worked with Hypo Real Estate Bank International, which in 2003 had the idea to expand into providing structured real estate debt. In that year, I joined a fledgling team within the bank and helped create a further €200 million in new lending products. Previously, I worked with Deloitte in their Corporate Finance Advisory team in London, UK and in their audit departments in London and Toronto, Canada.
I am qualified as a Chartered Accountant (Canada) and CFA Charterholder. I am also a member of the Urban Land Institute and ULI’s European Sustainable Development Council.
